Time Away

I have had to divert my attention a bit due to our Finanical year end which is just round the corner. I have had limited free time for playing around in the Open Source arena despite 2 of our main projects being mainly based on Open Source, at least, that's what I have recommended for my organisation. I, however, came across the Picasa Web Albums when I was doing my rounds on the web. I will have a look at it in detail when I get time but if there's anyone who has used it before, feel free to share what you got out of it. Alfresco is another Open Source solution that I downloaded and installed and intend palying around with.

Introduction

Having been in the IT industry for over 8 years, I decided to explore the free software and open source software arena as I had spent the better part of my career using paid proprietary software. The past few months have been quite an adventure as I have learnt of the power that some of the free software and open software can avail to us. I have decided to start a blog to share my experiences and also learn from the community. All and any comments are most welcome.
